Welcome to Gas-Charcoal-Barbecues.co.uk...
So you have come here in pursuit of the ideal gas or charcoal barbecue for your needs (...and wants!) - you have come to the right place, but don't take my word for it just yet! This website is designed with the sole intention of giving you as much information on various models of charcoal, gas and electric barbecues so that you can make your own informed decision on what is right for you. Unlike other "comparison" sites out there, I am not here to throw offers in your face. I won't tell you what you should buy. And more importantly, I am not here to make a fast buck. I am here to deliver concise information, ideas and inspiration based on my own product knowledge and experiences with these barbecues. I am also not an anonymous shadow, you can contact me if you have any questions or recommendations of your own. However, I will state at this point that this site is funded by any purchases made through Amazon.co.uk via this site.
How do I find the perfect barbecue for me?
- Charcoal, gas or electric? Do you take the traditionalist approach or sacrifice the taste of smoked food for the convenience and speed of gas or electric?
- What is your budget? Are you looking to pay that little extra for something that will last or is keeping costs to a minimum a priority? Small charcoal bbqs can be picked up for around £40-50 but the best gas grills will set you back £2000 or more!
- Do you have a particular brand in mind? There are many manufacturers of barbecue and each have varying reputations (...and price tags to match!). Perhaps the most famous brand is Weber but Broil King, Napoleon and others offer fantastic units also.
Other things to consider...
- How many people will the bbq need to cater for? Is it for you and a loved one or small family, or do you want to be the host-with-the-most at garden parties?
- What do you like to eat? What are you going to be cooking on it? Sausages and burgers ...or a hog-roast?(!) - How big will the bbq hood need to be? ...and what accessories will it need to be compatible with?
- Have you considered the aesthetics - Do you have a particular look, shape or colour in mind? Barbecues are available in a range of colours to suit your garden & personality as well as sleek black/polished steel models & fully stainless steel units.
- Available storage space A key factor that will significantly impact on what barbecue you will buy is your available space (both during cooking and for storage) and the size of the barbecue itself. Common sense dictates that you shouldn't buy a top of the range 6-burner barbecue if you only have a small balcony. Where do you plan to store it when not in use, or during the winter months? Some barbecues have folding shelves or compact down to a smaller size. Others have free heavy-duty covers so can be left out in all seasons. These points should always be in the back of your mind when deciding on your next barbecue ...for the record, I ALWAYS recommend using a heavy-duty weather cover throughout the year no matter where it is stored and regardless of manufacturer promises. If nothing else it will keep it looking like new and the bugs out!
